Kent State University College of Nursing RN/BSN program can offer you:

  • All courses are seven weeks except for the 15-week capstone course
  • Updated curriculum that reflects critical competencies for contemporary nursing practice as recommended by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing

All BSN students must complete 122 credits, including 40 credits of liberal education requirements (LERs) and 19 credits of the foundational coursework. RNs take 30 credits of nursing courses specially designed for the RN. All RN/BSN students must have a minimum of 39 upper division credit hours (30000 or 40000 level) to graduate from Kent State University.

Courses in blue are Web-based and designed for the busy and varied schedules of the RN.

PSYC 11762, General Psychology – 3 credits

SOC 12050, Introduction to Sociology – 3 credits

Humanities Electives* – 6 credits

Fine Arts* – 3 credits

Math or Critical Reasoning – 3 credits

Additional Humanities* – 6 credits

*One of these courses must satisfy the global diversity requirement.

NURS 44000, Population-based Nursing for Professional Nursing Practice – 3 credits

**RNs may receive up to 33 semester hours of lower division nursing credit. Credits awarded may not exceed the number of semester credit hours actually taken.
